Travel Time

With summer fast approaching I thought I would show you some of the Travel Scrapbooks that I have put together.
In the Summer Mini Catalog Stampin' UP has new On Board Books, I used the Briefcase Book (118766-$4.95). There are eight pages and I was able to put some nice highlight pictures of my trip to France in this book. I used my "new" favorite stamp set (also from the mini catalog) Elements of Style - I love this set! I love playing with chip board- you can stamp on it, emboss it do anything your can image.

I also posted a different album I did for a another trip I took with my husband.

If you like these albums and would like to make your own please contact me. They are lots of fun to make.

Thank you

Last month I again got myself involved in a swap, the theme this time was The Stampin' UP Summer Mini Catalog. Once again I found myself asking the imaginary craft/card fairy for help. I was in the kitchen looking at my calender and thinking I do not have much time left for this swap please spirits HELP ME!!!! Then I looked at my calender and started to giggle. It seems my calender was designed by a great person- this card is inspired by that calender. As I was working on the card my life took a another turn, this time my dad passed away and now I was worried I would let my Stampin UP family down and not be able to finish my card. Well I had fellow stampers write me and let me know that they would finish my card if I need and then I got lots of great emails from everyone letting me know that they would help and it would get done. I THANK YOU ALL!! In the end my sister-in-law helped me and we finished. I think this card will always be one of my favorites because it taught me that you can have lots of friends who you have never met face to face. These "strangers" offered me help and they will always be in my heart -they are no longer fellow stampers but now Friends who Stamp!

What Happened to April

Sorry it has taken me so long to update everyone on the GREAT things going on with Stampin' UP. My father had taken ill, he had been fighting lung cancer for 16 months, while we knew he was going to pass away sometime; when it occurred my family and I were not so ready for it. He is now pain free and at peace. I do THANK all my Stampin' UP friends for all there support and letters.

Now for some stamping information. We have new colors YES Stampin' UP is changing there colors on July 1st. I am so excited they are bringing back colors I LOVED and missed and well some of the new colors are AWESOME!!! So join me in welcoming the new colors and saying a fond farewell to many of our old friends! I am having problems uploading the file, it seems that pdf files do not upload well. If you would like a copy of the colors I will email to you. Sorry for the inconvenience.

My goal this week is to get my calender updated with Mays classes- if you would like to have a workshop this month please contact me and I will make it happen!

Behind Again

It seems that no matter how hard I try I am never ahead of the game. This month has been crazy and yes I have been behind the eight ball. Let me explain: I make the birthday cards for the employes of the ER that work in and well I seem to have forgot that people were born in March. So 1 week into the month I started making the cards. Below is a card that I made (I did see one very similar on line and really loved the look), and since I have a hard time with "boy" cards this one fit the bill.

The supplies I used were: the Sense of Time stamp set (113804), Sage Shadow card stock, Naturals Ivory card stock, Black card stock, Black Craft Ink, Black Classic Ink, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink (for sponging of course), To The Nines DSP (114038), Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (109027). For the finishing touch I used some Hodgepodge Hardware (and yes it is retired, just could not get the Styled Vanilla or Silver to work). I hope you like this card. The feedback from the "boys" at work has been very good.

Then to make my week even better I had a Shoebox Swap, now you maybe asking yourself "how is that a problem, you have time to get your act together". Well that is true for many of you out there, however it seems that I have been very unorganized. I started creating my Shoebox Swap (and once again I got some inspiration from casing others work) then went off to work, spacing out the fact that I had a swap to do. So Monday (the day of the swap) as I was drinking coffee and well playing games on fb I remembered that I had a swap so I began cutting paper for 25 cards, I had to make 13 card fronts and have everything together for the rest to be made there (this means gathering the supplies and making sure people can create this card with out to much difficulty. Well I got done with everything at 4:10 p.m.. The swap was at 5:30 p.m. so I made it! Did I mention that it was snowing outside as well:)

The supplies I used were:
Not Quite Navy card stock, Bella Bleu DSP (113974), Kraft Paper, Naturals White, 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Soft Suede Classic Ink, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, Le Jardin Botanique stamp set (113232). I colored the flowers with Stampin' Write Markers.

I loved that card so much that tonight I played around and made some more birthday cards using the same concept. And yes there is Shimmer Spray involved, lots of it!!!

I hope you like my projects this week! Please contact me for instructions and more information on these cards if you would like to make them.

Where Has The Time Gone

It seems as we get older time flies by faster. I remember being a kid and it would take forever for summer break to get here and now it's around the corner. I guess that is part of being older.
With that being said I have been behind all month on getting things done and not just with stamping projects but with laundry and house duties also. So tonight I have decided to get somewhat caught up.
It seems that the crafting world has caught up with the "vintage" look. Living in Colorado it seems that every where I go there are antiques and vintage items, so why not use them in card making and other crafts? I have made a birthday card to show you that the Vintage look can be achieved no matter the supplies or colors you use.

This card was made using Sending Love Speciality Paper (you will find this paper in the Occasions Mini Catalog). The brads and bling are also from this mini catalog. The bling is from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit, I love the bling! Thank you Kim VanDiepen for the Inspiration for this card!

My final card was done for a work shop WOW card and well I LOVE IT!! I had so much fun making it. If you would like to make this card please contact me and we will set up a workshop.

Tiles and Cards

I have some news for you- if you are a stamper this is great news. If you order $50 in products from Stampin' UP right now you will get a free stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. So think for every $50 you spend you can get stamps, there is even paper and punches available. If you are interested please contact me!

Well I finally have time to post some pictures, it seems as we get older time fly's way faster! This first image is a tile I made with some girl friends one night. I have found that when making tiles use the Rialto brand from Lowes (the tiles I got from Home Depot changed my colors and looked real bad). First of all you need to clean your tile, I use a unscented baby wipes. Once the tile is clean you can use Craft ink and any stamp you like to create a great project. Do not forget to add the embellishments, they take the tile from boring to WOW.

This card was done for a shoe box swap. I love it!! All products used are Stampin' UP. I used Regal Rose Card Stock and the paper is from the Occasions Mini Catalog- Sending Love Specialty Design paper. This paper has sparkles in it *LOVE IT* . I stamped the image using the Love You Much stamp set, then I colored in the Love with the Stampin' Write Markers. Then came the bling, added some Satin Ribbon (also from the Occasions Mini Catalog) and then a large button (Designer Buttons Sherbet).

I hope you like the projects I posted today. If you would like to make either one of them please contact me, I would love to help you make these projects and more.

Thank you for visiting today

Home from Leadeship

Well I am home from Leadership-this year was my first encounter with an event on this scale. I was fortunate to met Shelli Gardner, she is the Cofounder and CEO of Stampin' UP as well as an amazing stamper. The theme for Leadership was "Love What You Do" as I was sitting in the general meeting I started to think, I love what I do and as I am meeting amazing ladies I see that they are loving what they do as well. I also learned some new stamping techniques as well as quilting. Yes quilting- it seems the Big Shot is perfect for quilting; it allows you to cut great shapes for appliquéing. I was so shocked and just feel in love with this. My goal is to make a quilt post next month or sooner.

The pictures I have posted today are of the swap card I made. I used the Garden from the Heart stamp set (page 9 of the occasions mini catalog). I did some water coloring and then sprayed with shimmer paint. If you would like more information about this card or make this card please call me.

This is the same card with different colors.

The canvas that is posted was made for a coworker as a gift to his wife. This was so much fun to do allowed me to use some retired paper and the Bermuda Bay ribbon. I love this canvas!!!!

Friday, January 1, 2010

It seems that I was more caught up in the Holiday Season this year than in years past, so I am apologizing for not blogging much, and my failure to keep up with this. My goal for 2010 is to update my blog weekly, to include pictures, yes this is quite the task for me, but I am ready for the challenge. I have finished my January calender and have started to work on the February calender. So if you have any requests for classes please let me know and I will make it happen.
I am leaving next week to the leadership convention in Arizona for Stampin' UP and I am able to do this because of you my clients and friends; so I THANK YOU for this opportunity. My goals for this convention to to become much better at my business and learn some new teaching skills. I do have some cards to post however I will wait until after convention due to them being my swap cards. I have never done a swap before so this should be lots so fun. I made 32 cards and after 3 days I was thinking- "when I go to convention this summer I will have to make tons of cards so I better start now" YIKES!!! I do love doing this so that makes it a fun challenge!!!
Please check out my calender and I wish all of you the Best New Year Yet, and I Thank you all for your support!

Lisa

( to make the calender bigger just click on it, I never claimed to be good with computers just paper :) !
